Petco Essentials Restful Cuddler Review

Don't worry - Meadow doesn't get to have all the fun! Meadow's Kitties get new things to try out, too!

Today, Reekoe tests out a new Petco Essentials Restful Cuddler, 20 inch (approx. $19.99 $9.99). This is on sale right now for $9.99! Note that on the Petco website, this is called the "Petco Textured Round Cat Bed." This soft bed is perfect for kitties or even small dogs. It is soft and cushy, with raised sides, which makes a kitty feel secure.

Reekoe, our oldest kitty, is also our biggest kitty. He's a huge cat, weighing in at 17 pounds. Several years ago, before we got his diet on track, Reekoe weighed in at 26 pounds at his heaviest. He still needs to lose about 2-3 pounds. This big boy fits perfectly in this bed.

I put this bed on the table as I was putting away purchases, and the cats started trying out this bed before I could even get the tags off. They love getting a new bed! This Restful Cuddler bed is now placed on the Custom Cat Purrniture Cat Stand that the kitties got a couple weeks ago with a nice view out the window, and sunshine during the day. For years, our cats rejected bed after bed. We would buy a cat bed, and they wouldn't lay in it. Sometimes I think they intentionally puked on them! Now, any time we get a new cat bed, it goes in a "hot spot," - or a place that the kitties already like to hang out. For example, sometimes we put the bed in a favorite box, or on one of the cat stands, on the dining room table, or in the bay window. After the kitties take turns claiming it, we can move it from the "hot spot" to a new location. With cats, it's all about location!

Custom Cat Purrniture Review

Meadow's Kitties are SOOOO excited to do this review!

We finally splurged on a new Custom Cat Purrniture cat stand - the Orbitor, which we purchased at Chuck & Don's ($249.99). We've had two Purrniture stands in our home for several years, and they are fantastic.

Custom Cat Purrniture is a small business located in St. Paul, Minnesota, with a showroom and brick and mortar shop located on University Avenue.

Their cat stands are heavy-duty and sturdy, and made with re-purposed wood and carpet remnants. They truly are the best cat stands we've ever run across. Meadow's hooman bean papa, who weighs over 250 pounds can stand on the stand, and it doesn't flinch. 16-pound Blueberry can hit it flying through the air, and doesn't knock it over. Three or more cats can wrestle and play on it, and it doesn't tip. Cat stands at most pet supply chains are too lightweight and too small for our cats. They work OK for tiny cats or kittens, but they are too small for our big kitties.

Before today, we had two of the "Sleeper" models. One sits in our living room next to a window, and the other sits in our family room on the lower floor. Both have endured a lot of wear and tear, and have held up beautifully for several years. Meadow's kitties all love to sleep on them and scratch on them. They've had so much "love" from kitty claws, that they need to be re-carpeted, which we can have done at Custom Cat Purrniture's brick and mortar shop.

The "Sleeper" model can be purchased directly from Custom Cat Purrniture at their brick and mortar shop for $155, or you can purchase online. They will do local deliveries (Minneapolis/St. Paul) for $40, and U.S. shipping is available for $100+ depending on the model. There's no question that shipping is expensive, but if you're in the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, these cat stands are second to none.

Some local retailers carry Custom Cat Purrniture products, and we got our new "Orbitor" stand at Chuck & Don's today. Here's what it looks like:
It has four different levels, and is carpeted with quality carpet. There is a hollow tube that runs from the bottom chamber to the third level. It stands about 52 inches tall. As soon as we brought it in, three of Meadow's Kitties immediately presented themselves to volunteer as testers. Meadow also helped test this stand. And without further ado, Eddie, Blueberry, and Slimey demonstrate the Orbiter from Custom Cat Purrniture ~

Eddie was the first test out the stand. His favorite spot is the top of the stand.

Slimey was the next one on the scene, testing it out.

Then Blueberry joined the fun, and the three of them explored the tunnels, took turns scratching it, and batted at each other. Meadow makes a few cameo appearances in the photos as well.

Blueberry was the first one to figure out he could drop down the hollow tube to the bottom, and then jump from the bottom tube up to the third platform. He also figured out that he could dangle down the hole, and swat at Meadow, who thought this Kitty Party was super exciting.

Meadow's Kitties give the Orbitor a HUGE claws up! I highly, highly recommend Custom Cat Purrniture, particularly if you're a multi-cat household.
