Many Pastures Chicken Liver Pet Treats Review

Happy Mother's Day! Today, Meadow and Her Kitties are going to share a review of a new brand of treats we found at Chuck & Don's - Many Pastures Pet Treats, 3 oz. ($8.79).

These are 100% Freeze-dried Chicken Liver Treats that are suitable for both dogs and cats. What is really cool about this company is that their products are sourced from local livestock. On their website, they note what farm the livestock came from to produce the product. The Chicken Liver Treats are noted as having been sourced from chickens at the Heartland Hutterite Colony in Pipestone, Minnesota - which is actually near my hometown. What a cool bonus to be able to find a quality pet treat - and support a local small business!

For Meadow and Her Kitties, these treats are especially cool because they are suitable for both dogs and cats. In fact, I think these might primarily end up being a cat treat. We are super picky about cat treats, because one of Meadow's kitties - Eddie - is insulin-dependent diabetic. That really narrows the range of treats that are acceptable for him to eat. Most big-name treats available specifically for cats are completely loaded with sugar or carbs. These 100% single-source protein treats are perfect for him.

And, now on to the sampling pictures. First up, Meadow's Kitties volunteered to sample them. Blueberry, Eddie, and Slimey showed up to taste test as soon they heard me open the bag. They were a resounding hit! Note that the chunks in the package are fairly large, but they are not super-dense, so you can easily break them up. For the kitties or smaller dogs, I'd recommend breaking them up into smaller pieces. For bigger dogs like Meadow, they're the perfect size for a treat.

Blueberry couldn't wait for me to distribute them. He tried to take them out of my hand while I was taking pictures.

Meadow also got to sample one. She definitely gave these healthful treats her paw print of approval.

These Many Pastures Pet Treats are definitely on our "do again" list. The price is comparable to other more widely available 100% protein treats with the added bonus that the meats are sourced locally.
